What we Study @HCC!
Music is taught for 50 minutes once a week in a dedicated classroom. Students have access to a wide variety of instruments and ICT based software and we have the benefit of 5 break out spaces for group work. As well as Keyboards, Percussion, Ukulele, Guitars, Bass Guitars and drum kits we also hire a range of instruments from Devon Music Service, such as African Djembe, Indonesian Gamelan, Steel Pans and orchestral instruments to enhance the curriculum experience!
Whilst the majority of the lesson will be practical based, time is allocated for individual reflection either through the use of work logs or through discussion. We teach a varied and interesting curriculum covering the main areas of the National Curriculum - Performing, Composing, Listening and Appraising.
We are constantly reviewing our schemes of work and so this maybe subject to change
